Upon receipt of an
order, usually by email or telephone, a collection note is completed and
arrangements made to uplift the goods on one of the company's vehicles.
(If the goods are available at the time of the order and we have a
vehicle in the area, the order is telephoned straight through to the
driver) Consignments can, on occasion, be too large for the vehicle. If
this is the case, the goods are collected directly by the export
trailer.
When the goods are brought
back to the depot they are off-loaded and put into the respective bay.
Goods already collected by the export trailer remain onboard to await
completion with other export consignments. Once the trailer is loaded
the export paperwork is made up; one copy is given to the driver and
another is emailed to the recipient. The trailer is then shipped
for onward delivery.
At the time
of export, the driver is advised of the freight onboard and the
destinations. The trailer will have been loaded in accordance of
the delivery points for ease of off-loading, e.g. the consignment to be
delivered first will have been loaded at the rear of the trailer.
When the
trailer arrives at the depot of destination it will be off-loaded and
the goods will be checked against the loading list (which will have
already been emailed to the destination at the time of export.)
